Mark, Steve, Denise and I all took the day off to watch the Parade of Sail as part of Sail Boston 2000. As part of the membership Mark and I have with the BHSC we were able to watch the parade from the deck of a sailboat moored in the harbor. We had an incredible view of the tall ships as they sailed right in front of us.
I had also heard that the JFK Aircraft Carrier would be in
the harbor as part of the activities. I was excited to see it.
This was the best view I ever had of the JFK. |

I went sailing with Rob and Yvonne a few days later. I thought I'd see the JFK
up close from the water. As it turned out, Yvonne got sea sick, and Rob was getting
over food poisoning from the day before. We had barely set the sails before we
had to turn around. I never did get any closer to the JFK.
Safe on dry land. |
In case you were wondering, this is what the JFK really looks like. Unfortunately, I didn't take these pictures.
